Russian coach Igor Shalimov said on Match TV that Real Madrid “should cry” after Barcelona clinched the La Liga title early.
In the 35th round home match, Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 2-0 and secured the Spanish championship with three games to spare.
“It’s all deserved. If Barcelona becomes champion three rounds before the end, then Real Madrid should cry. This is a terrible story for both teams, in my opinion,” Shalimov stated on the program “All on Match!” on Match TV.
The Catalan club has 91 points from 35 matches. Second-placed Real Madrid trails by 14 points.
Barcelona won the Spanish championship for the 29th time, while Real Madrid has 36 titles.
