Last year’s Thanksgiving Day matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys drew an average of 57.2 million viewers on CBS, making it the most-watched regular-season game in NFL history. Now, Fox is betting that the Cowboys’ 2026 Thanksgiving appearance against the Philadelphia Eagles will deliver similar blockbuster numbers.
During its upfront presentation on Monday night at New York City Center in Manhattan, Fox announced it will broadcast the NFC East showdown from Dallas on Thursday, Nov. 26 at 4:30 p.m. ET. The news was shared by Fox NFL personalities Erin Andrews, Tom Brady, and Rob Gronkowski.
This will mark the 59th time the Cowboys play on Thanksgiving, with Dallas holding a 35-22-1 record in those games. Interestingly, while four of the Cowboys’ last five Thanksgiving matchups have been against NFC East opponents, they haven’t faced the Eagles on Turkey Day since 2014.
Philadelphia enters the 2026 season as the defending NFC East champion after finishing 11-7 in 2025, while Dallas aims to bounce back from a disappointing 7-9-1 campaign. Tom Brady will handle color commentary for the game, joining play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt.
Fox also has reason to be optimistic based on its own recent Thanksgiving performance. Last year, the network’s broadcast of the Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions game averaged 47.7 million viewers across Fox and Tubi—the most-watched regular-season game in Fox history and the highest-rated early Thanksgiving game ever.
Details of the full 2026 NFL schedule remain scarce, but three marquee Cowboys games are now known: a Week 1 Sunday Night Football clash with the New York Giants, a Week 3 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Rio de Janeiro (the first NFL game in Brazil), and the Thanksgiving game against Philadelphia. Earlier this week, Fox also secured two additional games for the 2026 season. The complete schedule will be released on Thursday, May 14.
