Ecuadorian rider Jhonatan Narváez (UAE Team Emirates – XRG) claimed victory in the fourth stage of the Giro d’Italia, a 138 km route from Catanzaro to Cosenza. He outsprinted Venezuelan Orlui Aular (Movistar) in a tight finish, while Italian Giulio Ciccone (Lidl Trek) secured the maglia rosa as the new overall leader.
Narváez covered the distance in 3 hours, 8 minutes and 47 seconds at an average speed of 44 km/h, holding off Aular after Movistar launched a long-range attack to thin out the sprint contenders. Ciccone now leads the general classification.
