More than a decade after being selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, Johnny Manziel is trading the gridiron for the boxing ring.
According to Andreas Hale of ESPN, Manziel will face off against social media influencer Bob Menery on May 23 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
This marks the latest chapter in Manziel’s post-football journey, at an age when many players are still active in the NFL. However, his professional football career fizzled out after just two seasons with the Cleveland Browns.
Following his NFL exit, Manziel spent time with two CFL teams and later joined the short-lived AAF in 2019. From 2021 to 2022, he played for the Zappers in the Fan Controlled Football League. In 2024, he launched the *Glory Daze* podcast.
Now at 33 years old, Manziel will step into the ring against the 38-year-old Menery in a fresh attempt to capture attention and earn some money.
