English Premier League giants Manchester United are in advanced negotiations with betting firm Betway to finalize a training kit sponsorship deal, set to begin next season.
According to The Athletic, the agreement is expected to be worth approximately £18 million annually, placing it among the highest-value training kit partnerships in world football.
The British gambling company’s logo would appear across United’s Carrington training gear under a multi-year arrangement. If completed, the deal would end a 12-month gap since the club’s previous training partner, Tezos, walked away in June 2025. Tezos had paid £24 million per year for its contract.
The timing is strategic. Starting from the 2026-27 season, the Premier League’s voluntary ban on gambling sponsorship on the front of matchday shirts takes effect. This season, 11 of the 20 current Premier League clubs featured a gambling brand on the front of their shirts, and all 11 must find new partners. Training kit deals, however, fall outside the ban, prompting gambling firms to pivot and fill that inventory.
Betway already has Premier League pedigree, having previously sponsored West Ham’s matchday shirts, and currently holds global partnerships with Manchester City, Arsenal, and Brighton.
Manchester United has been working with marketing agency Two Circles, led by former United sales manager Leo Thompson, to secure both this deal and a replacement shirt sleeve sponsor for DXC, whose terms expire this summer.
